MTN strengthens partnership with Government at GovTech 2023
MTN recently attended the GovTech 2023 conference with several state agencies as part of helping the South African government achieve its digital transformation goals.
MTN is working with these agencies to help them deliver the important data needed for efficient government decision-making.
The partnership between MTN and these agencies – which was strengthened through dialogue at GovTech 2023 – currently comprises a base of 3,000 Mobile Device Management (MDM) licenses that select agencies have access to throughout the 24-month partnership period.
MTN used GovTech to propose adding extra value to state agencies by offering the SOTI MobiControl MDM solution as part of the partnership agreement.

SOTI MobiControl enables full MDM functionality that streamlines end-to-end device management, tracking, control, security, application management, reporting, and more.
These features will combine to make it much simpler for the state agencies that MTN has partnered with to manage and secure business-critical mobile devices and apps, as well as smart IoT endpoints.
MTN explained at GovTech 2023 that this partnership will enable partners to deploy mobile devices into employees’ hands faster, while ensuring they are configured according to the company’s mobility requirements and policies.
This includes the devices supporting integrated productivity tools and having remote support features that reduce worker downtime.
SOTI MobiControl also provides integrations with multiple device OEM rapid enrolment solutions, such as Android zero-touch enrolment, Apple automated device enrolment, Samsung KME, Windows Autopilot, and Zebra StageNow.
This will result in high-quality devices reaching the hands of state agency employees faster and with all the features and tools necessary to deliver improved productivity.
Future strategic opportunities
MTN is working with its partners on many other important technology projects with the aim of making the organisation’s operations run much smoother.

Ultimately, MTN wants to help these agencies achieve an economy of scale that vastly improves census projects over the next three to five years.
