Nedbank Private Wealth triumphs at the 2023 Intellidex Top Private Banks and Wealth Managers Awards

 ·9 Oct 2023

Nedbank Private Wealth emerged as the dominant force in South Africa’s private banking sector at the 2023 Intellidex Top Private Banks and Wealth Managers Awards.

The bank secured multiple accolades at the prestigious event, reaffirming its leadership in the private banking industry, and validating its proven ability to deliver exceptional wealth management services to its clients.

Now in its 12th year, the Intellidex Top Private Banks and Wealth Managers Awards is regarded as the leading assessment of the private banking industry in South Africa.

The rigorous research process involves a comprehensive questionnaire completed by participating banks and wealth managers, along with an online client survey.

The awards are based on various criteria, including client satisfaction levels, investment returns, value for money, and the likelihood of clients recommending the services to others.

Nandiswa Mxokozeli, Managing Executive: Nedbank Wealth Management South Africa, expressed her pride and gratitude for the outstanding recognition received by Nedbank Private Wealth at the prestigious 2023 edition of the awards.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition, particularly given that it comes in a year in which participation in the research by clients and private banking firms reached record levels,” she said, “which is invaluable confirmation that our industry recognises us for our proven ability to meet the diverse needs of the country’s affluent individuals and families.”

A particular highlight of Nedbank Private Wealth’s exceptional performance in this year’s Intellidex Awards was its recognition as South Africa’s Top Private Bank; an accolade made even more impressive by the fact that it comes on the back of the bank’s recent recognition as the Best Private Bank in Africa at the 2023 Global Private Banking Innovation Awards 2023.

In addition, to taking this top award, Nedbank Private Wealth also walked off with numerous other wins in several award categories, including the Wealthy Family archetype (Wealth Management) category, and the Young Professional and Retiree archetypes (Private Bank) category.

The bank also ranked second in the Top Wealth Manager (Large Institutions) category, the People’s Choice (Private Bank) category, and the Entrepreneur and Executive archetypes (Private Bank) category, while securing third place in the Lump Sum Investor archetype (Private Bank) category.

The quality of Nedbank Private Wealth’s people was also underscored at the awards as its Private Bankers, Redesh Singh and Louise Davies claimed the winner and runner-up titles respectively in the highly coveted Top Private Banker award category.

Mxokozeli commended the Nedbank Private Wealth team for the outstanding performance and committed the bank to continuing to contribute towards building a world-class wealth industry in South Africa, while providing its clients with the certainty and confidence they need to optimise their wealth planning, creation, and protection efforts.

“This notable independent acknowledgement validates Nedbank Private Wealth’s pioneering spirit and absolute client commitment,” she said, “and we have no intention of resting on our laurels, but will further step up our efforts to deliver unrivalled value for our clients through our integrated strategic private wealth advisory services, blended cross-channel experiences, multi-generational planning expertise and industry leading multi-asset and multi-sector portfolios.”

“We know that our journey is a continuously evolving one,” Mxokozeli said, “and we will keep pushing the boundaries, setting new benchmarks, and delivering unparalleled value to successfully guide our clients through the complexities of local and international wealth management and ensure the stability and sustainability of their individual, family and generational wealth.”
